Every answer Liaison gives depends on one thing: the data underneath it. We pull data from the tools a business already runs, normalize it into one lake, and tie people and records together across sources. We need a senior engineer to own that layer end to end.

About Liaison

Liaison is an AI infrastructure and data company. Our platform connects to the systems a business already runs on, builds a unified view of its operations, and deploys agents that act on that context the way the owner would, bringing forward only the decisions that require a person. Our work spans agent engineering, model training outputs for small language models (SLMs), and frontier-level research, and we build our agent runtime and integrations in-house.

What month 12 looks like

New sources land in the lake cleanly and on time. The database holds up as customers and users grow, with queries that stay fast and tenant data that stays isolated. The same person or company shows up as one record no matter how many tools it came from, and the mid-level database engineer has grown into owning real parts of it.

What you will own

Ingestion: pipelines that pull, normalize and refresh data from many outside tools and APIs
Postgres performance and reliability: schema design, query tuning, indexing, scaling and backups
Tenant isolation and row-level security
Data modeling across sources, including the relationship graph that links people, companies and records
Identity resolution: merging duplicate records from different tools into one
Technical direction for the mid-level database engineer

Required

Has run production Postgres, including schema design, query tuning and backups
Has built ingestion pipelines that pull and normalize data from multiple outside APIs
Has modeled entities across data sources and merged duplicate records
Has owned a production data system through incidents

Preferred

Has implemented row-level security or multi-tenant isolation
Has worked on data that feeds an AI or LLM product
Has led or mentored another engineer
Has worked at an early-stage company
